My Checklist From Last Week
Find a location
Create a list of 10 places / people to send the flyer to
Advertise a group class flyer to at least 10 different place/people
Develop a list of teaching materials I should have for private instructions and small group instruction

Personal Victory!
I started seeking a location! I actually did it, I gathered the courage and called every single contact on my list. The results are as follows:
2 Places don’t have space
1 Place doesn’t exist anymore
3 Places I left a voicemail
1 Place I spoke to and then emailed the flyer
3 Places that I left information with and must call back.
As of this morning 1 person contacted me back from a voicemail and said I can fill out an outside group space request form but the space won’t be donated, it would come at a nominal fee, which I don’t mind at all! Because of my medical emergency which took up the entire day until the moment I began typing this, I was not able to call anybody back but I managed to avoid needing eyeball surgery! A definite win! Life really is full of surprises.
Self-Reflection
Now that I finally called places, my initial social anxieties are gone and I’m more confident in my request and the way to ask for it. If this project has taught me anything, it’s how to communicate professionally and use a professional vocabulary while still maintaining my personality. With String Project gone, I feel that there is a huge market for this kind of program, and if it is successful I’ll be able to hire other teachers, have more days and more classes.

Not Quite as Slow as a Sloth, but Not Yet a Turtle’s Pace
Unfortunately I can’t say I did any of the things on my checklist completely this past week, but I did most of those in partial. I was hoping on finding a location before writing my 7th update, but it’ll have to wait. I made the calls. Also, I dug up the old string project class rosters and went through them. The rosters list the student’s name, parents’ names, two phone numbers, address, email, and age of the student. I highlighted all the students who are 3-4, since the roster is from 2013 and now those students will be 5-6 years old. Next I plan on adding pre-kindergartens and kindergartens in the area to the list. Progress is slow, but it’s there!
“Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those timid spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.”
-Theodore Roosevelt
